Listing Details
The Capri Organ was assembled from a number of Theatre Organs around Australia and overseas by Organist Penn Hughes. In 1968 he sold it to music dealer Mike Pfitzner in Darwin. Mike was unable to make the organ play due to tropical weather taking it’s toll on the instrument. In 1974 Mike was forced to abandon his dream and sold the organ to the TOSA SA Division. A team of 6 members flew to Darwin, dismantled and packed the organ for the long road trip from Darwin to Adelaide.
