For Sale is this Rare 7"single by Naomi Eyers - "50 Years of Joy" Winner of the 1983 John Martins Christmas Pageant song contest.
Listing Details
Back in 1933, Edward Hayward, Director of one of Adelaide's leading retail stores, decided to stage a Christmas Pageant through the city's streets as a gift to the children of South Australia. That first pageant boasted 8 floats and 4 bands.
50 years on, John Martin's Pageant was the largest in the world staged by one company and it's staff; before a crowd of 400,000 people.
As part of the celebration to mark the 50th year of the pageant a $5,000 song contest was held. This was the winning entry!
